Warm & breezy weekend

Sunny skies, southwest winds drive highs into the upper 70s

Weekend warm up

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Expect a warm and breezy weekend. A shift in winds makes for warmer temperatures this weekend. On Thursday and Friday, brisk Northerly winds kept us unusually cool for temperatures, but Southwesterly winds on Saturday and Sunday make for warm afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Saturday started with temperatures in the low 50s and mid 40s, isolated patchy fog, and light winds out of the SW.  After sunrise, the temperatures climbed quickly through the 50s, 60s, and into the 70s, where we spent most of Saturday afternoon.  No chance for rain on Saturday, but an elevated fire danger exists due to breezy, dry conditions.  Southwest winds by Saturday afternoon will be sustained between 10 and 15 mph and gusting up to 20 mph.
