Weather Update: Evening storms fade

Storms were early, often and light

This is a snapshot from around 4:10pm.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla – As expected, showers and storms have been peppering parts of town throughout the afternoon.  Many of these have been on the light to moderate side, with the heaviest in Camden county, Georgia.  Those storms produced rains to nearly an inch with a decent amount of lightning.

The rest of the evening should be fairly quiet in the Jacksonville area.  Why?  Well, the early and often pattern tends to cool and stabilize the atmosphere and this should limit the number of leftover storms this evening.  Yet, limit, doesn't mean they are totally done.  So, remain alert to the possibility.  Of course, the Weather Authority Radar APP is available to those with smart phones, just look under "WJXT" in the APP store.
