Wednesday's weather a continuation of Tuesday's gloom

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A continuation of Tuesday's gloom is in the cards for your hump day with drizzle and cloudy skies ruling along the first coast.

If there is any silver lining here it's that the fog hasn't been nearly as dense in metro Jacksonville allowing for a ever-so-slightly improved commute. Roadways are still wet however and extra caution is warranted throughout the day.

So will the Sunshine State provide, well, some sun, on Thursday? The answer to that is a resounding no. Clouds, drizzle and chilly temperatures will continue through your Thursday as well.

So what the heck is going on? The nemesis? It's the northeasterly wind that brought palpable delight to Jacksonville with light snow last Thursday and is now keeping the clouds and rain locked in place.

Meteorologist Richard Nunn said, "it's the cool northeast wind over the relatively warmer ocean water that is keeping the impermeable skies in place but there is hope for some sun on Friday."

Heading into the weekend, expect temperatures to moderate back up to seasonable norms with partly to mostly cloudy skies in place.

Hang on just a little bit longer and our Seattle-like weather will be exonerated back to, well, Seattle.
