Weekend forecast has a little bit of everything

Big rains fade away allowing brief chilldown

Rains barely leave Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Precisely as forecasted, Friday's squall line came in exactly as forecasted, dumping very heavy rains across parts of North Florida, with lesser amounts in Georgia.  There were a few isolated reports of tree damage from either straight line winds or small EF0 (EF-zero) tornadoes that may have briefly touchdown.  Rain was the biggest issue and most of us had between 1/2" and 2".

But now...  The forecast gets tough!

Saturday will see sunshine in inland locations and clouds, chilly temperatures along the coast.  The separation between good and damp (not rainy), chilly conditions could literally be 10 miles.  Sunday we warm-up, but this increases the chances of afternoon showers.

THE BIG WEEKEND EVENTS

Monster Truck Jam - Grab an extra layer or two!  It might not feel cool when you leave but by the time you sit in the stands a while...

Daytona 500 (Sunday 1pm) - Grab sunglasses, sunscreen and a poncho.  What? Yep, a few afternoon showers possible, during the race.

26.2 with Donna (7am PVB to AB and back) - Cool, with some sun, then a cool breeze along the beach part of your run.  Much, much warmer than the past few years!
