Path to the Polls: Florida not among ‘swing’ states but could still play crucial role in presidential election

Six swing states could swing the pendulum in the presidential election. Right now Florida isn’t among them, but with the abortion issue looming on the Sunshine State’s ballot in November, voters’ opinions might be swayed.

Polls show President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump running close in Florida, which might play a more crucial role than many think in the outcome of the 2024 presidential election.

The fact is roughly 6% of voters in the swing states will be “the deciders” in the 2024 presidential election.

Also on this edition of “Path to the Polls,” we know most voters don’t like their choices this go round, but we look at the demographics of those who are supporting each of the candidates.

And it’s interesting to note how their respective parties view the run-up to the election. An article in Axios portrayed party sentiment this way: “Democrats are more worried about November than Republicans are.” Democrats say the race is winnable. Republicans say they’re winning. The swing-state map is a big reason why!”
