RB Chad Gasper commits to the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators have secured a second running back commit for the Class of 2025, Chad Gasper from Fulshear (TX) Katy Jordan.

Ranked as the 499th overall player on the 247 Sports Composite and the 43rd running back overall, Gasper also ranks as the 517th overall player and 40th running back in the country according to On3 Industry Rankings. He received offers from Ohio St, Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee, Nebraska, among others.

During his junior season, Gasper, who stands at 5-foot-11 and weighs 195 pounds, rushed for 488 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging 4.9 yards per carry in seven games. He also caught 15 passes for 136 yards and another touchdown. In his sophomore year, he ran for 675 yards and 10 TDs on 4.7 yards per carry in 10 games, and caught 16 passes for 194 yards and a touchdown. His freshman season ended with 300 yards and 2 TDs on 5.2 yards per carry in nine varsity games, along with 8 receptions for 127 receiving yards.

The Gators extended an offer to Gasper in late January and hosted him on campus for the first time in March. During his three-day visit to Gainesville, he familiarised himself with the coaching staff and campus.

Gasper is the fifth player to join the Class of 2025, alongside Tallahassee’s James Rickards’ four-star edge Jalen Wiggins, Tampa’s Plant’s four-star running back Waltez Clark, Havana’s Gadsden County’s three-star defensive lineman Jeramiah McCloud, and Atlanta’s Woodward Academy’s three-star wide receiver Josiah Abdullah.
