Elizabeth Campbell joined WJXT in October of 2010 from Flowery Branch, Ga., home of the Atlanta Falcons. She attended Georgia Southern University, where she reported and anchored for Georgia Southern's television station, Eagle News 97. Elizabeth interned at Savannah's WJCL her last semester of college.
Elizabeth was hired as a part-time associate producer at WJXT, where she shadowed reporters and producers during her off time to get as much experience as possible. She became The Morning Show's assignment editor in the summer of 2011, and shortly after, became the fill-in traffic reporter.
After learning multiple angles of the newsroom and getting more reporting experience, Elizabeth became a full-time reporter for Channel 4 in May 2013.
Elizabeth says one of the biggest stories she has covered since being at News4Jax was the devastating crash on Interstate 75 in Gainesville in January 2012 that killed 10 people and injured 18 others.
Elizabeth was born and raised in Atlanta, moving to Flowery Branch on Lake Lanier when she was 11. Her parents still live there and that's where she calls home. Elizabeth grew up playing basketball and volleyball and has a love for most sports.
She says Jacksonville and Atlanta are both close to her heart. She is a Jaguars fan, but don't ask her who she's cheering for when they play the Falcons.
When Elizabeth isn't chasing down breaking news in her high heels, you can catch her with her having fun with her dogs. She has a crazy, yet entertaining, Yellow Lab named Lanier, and an American Bulldog named Major. She also loves being outdoors, God, her family and friends mean the world to her and she loves the Vols -- Go Big Orange!
Elizabeth says the best part of her job is the wide array of stories she gets to cover. One day she's helping the public by giving them information on a major event and the next day she's brightening the day of a 12-year-old girl by putting her story on TV.Elizabeth says laughter is the best medicine so if you have a funny story, email it her way.
