Organization wants to sign up children, volunteers

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida has some exciting news for the military community.  The organization has received a grant for a Military Mentoring Program and is actively recruiting military children to sign up as soon as possible.

The grant supports children in military families and engages active duty, retired or reserve military personnel as volunteer mentors. (Read the Parent Flyer here.)

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida seeks youth and adults participants for the Military Mentoring Program
  •  The Military Mentoring Program supports children in military families, including a parent deployed.
  • Parents must be considered active duty to enroll their child in this specific program.

If you are non-military, there are other programs available to pair your child with a Big Brother or Big Sister.   Staff carefully match adult mentors and youth mentees in long-term, one-to-one friendships and provide professional support for the volunteers, children and families throughout the life of the match.
