Man convicted in child sex crime facing sentencing

51-year-old facing 45 years in prison

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A man who was recently convicted in a child sex crime is set to be sentenced on Sept. 5.

Raymond Gregory, 51, was convicted of custodial sexual battery on a child and lewd or lascivious molestation of a minor.

Gregory worked at Yulee Elementary School as a custodian and at a Nassau County church as a youth minister. While working at the school and church, Gregory was known to take in children who were in need of help.

In the years 2008 and 2009, Gregory took in a 12-year-old boy. During the months that the boy lived with him, Gregory forced the child to perform sex acts at least once to twice a week, and then gave the victim money and presents.

Gregory is facing up to 45 years in prison.
