Police say more than 60 high school seniors broke into their school overnight, trashing classrooms, greasing door handles and urinating in hallways.
The damage done to a Teaneck, New Jersey high school was meant to be a senior prank, but things got out of hand, reported WNBC-TV.
Police responded when the burglary alarm went off in the school shortly before 2:30 a.m. When they arrived, several students fled on foot, but dozens more remained on-site, some hiding.
Officers discovered found flipped desks, petroleum jelly on doorknobs, balloons scattered through the school and urine in the hallways.
All of the sixty-two students arrested face burglary and criminal mischief charges. Thirty-eight of them are juveniles and were released to their parents, but the rest will appear in court.
