Birds keep circling, invading Calif. woman's house

Hundreds of Black Swift birds return every night at the same time

It's like something out of "The Twilight Zone."

A swarm of black birds keeps circling and invading the home of a California woman -- at the same time every night.

It started last Friday, when Exeter resident Shirley Brown came home and found hundreds of Black Swift birds in her home.

They were in the kitchen, under the couch and even on the ceiling fan, Fresno TV station KMPH reported.

"I think the most horrifying was how they got in and the mess that they were making while they were here because birds are scared and they are pooping," Brown said.

She scared them out by running the vacuum.

But the birds came back around the same time -- 8 p.m. -- the next night.

And they have returned every night since.

Black Swifts can be found all over the world, but they do typically migrate to the California coast and mountains in the summer for mating, KMPH reported.

"I am thinking that with the weather change they will go away ... I hope," Brown said.
