They don't even have a track, but that didn't stop one track and field team in South Carolina from winning the state title.

Central High School in Pageland had only a few busted hurdles and one starting block known as "old rusty" to its name this season, Charlotte TV station WBTV reported.

"Our conditions are bad," coach Billy Blakeney said.

"We got potholes. Running around the field, one of my guy's twisted his ankle one day right before a meet."

But team members didn't let that stop them.

They won county, regional and upper state tournaments this season. And just this past weekend, Central was crowned 2-AA state champions, according to WBTV.

"Just because we don't have a track, doesn't stop us from anything. I take it as, this is what made us better. It made us a championship team," runner Travay Hatten said.
