Train passes over woman sleeping on the tracks

Woman unharmed, unaware that train had just passed over her

A woman who "fell asleep" on railroad tracks apparently had no idea how close she came to injury or even death.

According to WVTM, concerned residents called police on Wednesday morning to report that a woman had been hit by a train. Police arrived on the scene to find that not only had 22-year-old Lynsey Horne of Salem, Alabama not been hit by the train, but she was actually still sleeping and unaware that a train had just passed over her sleeping body.

Police captain Lorenza Dorsey told WVTM that Horne is lucky. "The train was not long - only two engines and a car. Plus, Horne had a small build and was able to lay in a way that she was not stuck by the train or hit by another object from the train."

Horne was arrested and charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
