Police say a runway model was caught trying to steal Pop-Tarts and other sugary items from a local supermarket.

Mary Jean Conniff, a model who participated in New York's Fashion Week in 2012, allegedly tried to steal the sweets from a Pathmark store in Harlem, the New York Post reports.

According to a criminal complaint, Conniff, 23, was observed by a security guard stuffing three boxes of Pop-Tarts, two boxes of cake mix and several other items into her purse and pockets.

Conniff was followed outside the store by security, who then took the items back and held her until police arrived. She was sentenced to one day of community service for her crime.
