Sept. 11 remembrances in Northeast Florida, Southeast Georgia

Here are several of the Sept. 11 remembrances in Channel 4's viewing area.

Friday through Sunday

Jacksonville Remembers 9/11 from 9:11 p.m. to midnight each night two beams of light will illuminate the Downtown Jacksonville sky from the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront to unite with New York City, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania to honor the heroes of 9/11 and all first responders. Residents and visitors of Jacksonville are encouraged to visit downtown in remembrance of Sept. 11.


9 a.m. - 9/11 First Responders Ride - CMA Messiah Riders'  4th annual ride to all the fire stations in Camden County, Georgia, to offer prayer/blessings to the firemen/paramedics. After the ride, the group will hold a catered meal for sale.


8:45-11 a.m. - News4Jax will livestream memorial events from New York City, Washington, D.C. and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

9:45 a.m. - Palm Coast Elks 9/11 Ceremony - Lodge #2709 to commemorate 15th anniversary with ceremony at 9-11 memorial monument at the lodge, 53 Old Kings Road N., Palm Coast.

10 a.m. - 9/11 Heroes Run - "Run, volunteer, donate, cheer, but most of all: honor." Runs held internationally with the goal to never forget the sacrifices of the heroes of Sept. 11 and the wars since. Jacksonville run begins at 10 a.m. at the Sea Walk Pavillion, Jacksonville Beach. Onsite registration begins at 8 a.m.; ceremonial start at 9:31 a.m.

1-3 p.m. - Jacksonville Jaguars tribute to events of 9/11 - The team is preparing a full slate of patriotic game-day activities and are asking fans to submit photos of local military members and first responders to be shown on the video boards during a halftime rendition of "God Bless America." Photos can be submitted through social media using the hashtag #Jagsalute or emailed to entertainment@jaguars.com.

1-2:45 p.m. - Never Forget Banner and dinner delivery for Nocatee Fire Station. Hosted by Helping Hands. Tickets available

4-5 p.m. - Sept. 11th Memorial Walk with Heroes and Hounds - Memorial Park, 1620 Riverside Ave., Jacksonville.

6-7 p.m. - 9/11 Peace Concert. Sister City event hosted at the St. John's Cathedral
