Jacksonville Zoo hosts 'Lend a Paw' drive for hurricane relief

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens will “Lend a Paw” to the two-legged and four-legged members in the community who are trying to rebuild after Hurricane Irma by hosting a supply drive this weekend.

The zoo will be collecting cleaning supplies, non-perishable food, hygiene items, and pet supplies.

Partner organizations, such as Elevate Life Church, S.A.F.E. Animal Shelter and Friends of Clay County Animals, will distribute the supplies gathered to the Black Creek area of Clay County.

Those who donate specific quantities of items to the Lend a Paw supply drive will receive free tickets to the zoo.

The supply drive drop-off will be at the zoo’s Main Camp on Saturday and Sunday.

The Promise radio will be on-site to help the zoo celebrate bringing the community together to lend a paw.
