Safety Council honors News4Jax for coverage of safety issues
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – For the second year in a row, the Northeast Florida Safety Council has honored News4Jax with the Jerry Hamm Media Award for covering safety issues in the community.
Reporter/anchor Vic Micolucci accepted the award on behalf of WJXT.
The award, which has been presented for the past 50 years and was given Friday at the organization's annual membership meeting and holiday luncheon, is named after member Jerry Hamm, former owner of Jerry Hamm Chevrolet.
With four locations throughout the First Coast, the Safety Council offers classroom safety courses in addition to online training designed to promote good health, save lives, prevent accidents and improve road safety.
