JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The second of three Channel 4 Shredder Days took place Friday, this time on the Southside.
Partnering with Cintas Document Management, Winn-Dixie and Family Foundations, free shredding was available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Winn-Dixie No. 72, located at 7534 Beach Blvd. at Parental Home Road.
On Monday, 30,000 pounds of material was processed after more than 600 cars rode through at the Winn-Dixie at 5207 Normandy Blvd. on the Westside.
The third Shredder Day will take place Saturday (see details below).
It is part of Jacksonville's Third Annual Wise Money Week.

- Saturday - 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Winn-Dixie #141 -- 11701 San Jose Blvd., near Loretto Road
"What we did this year was spread it out to three different locations on three different days, so if people are busy today, please let them know they can come Friday and they can come Saturday," said Martha Cox, vice president of Family Foundations.
Consumers and businesses are invited to protect their identities by shredding unwanted personal, financial or confidential documents.
During the event, anyone can bring their documents in and have them shredded by an on-site, certified Cintas employee. Due to expected demand, each person in line can only have five boxes of material to shred, although they are welcome to get in line again if they have more.
From drop-off to destruction, all documents will be constantly monitored and protected.
The first 10,000 people will receive a free financial education kit including "Your Journey to Financial Health."
Those dropping off documents to be shredded should be in line at least 30 minutes prior to the end time of the event.
