JACKSONVILLE, Fl. – Google is changing how results in Google Play are listed.
Financial Post reports, Google Play is giving the top spots in search engine results to be sponsored. This means a developer or company can pay to have its app listed first in the results. The top spot now can be for any app despite how popular the app may be, which is currently is how the apps are listed.
The app will be classified as an ad and look different than before. According to Financial Post in the top right corner of the ad will be a red flag.
Financial Post reports, Google is testing the ad sponsored apps. Not every Google Play customer will be part of the testing phase.
