IHOP switches to new logo
IHOP calls old logo "frowny"
IHOP has unveiled a new logo. Consumerist reports, the International House of Pancakes got rid of the word "restaurant" in the old logo and replaced it with a red swoop to resemble a smile.
The company compared the "restaurant" part of the old logo to a frown face; which Kirk Thompson, the vice president of marketing, referred to as "negative".
IHOP had the old logo for 20 years; adopting it in the 90s.
According to IHOP's website- the first location opened in 1958.
