Children's furniture recalled due to tip-over risk

20,000 pieces are under voluntary recall in the U.S. and Canada

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A children's furniture company is recalling thousands of pieces in the United States over fears they could fall over and hurt children.

Pali Design has issued a voluntary recall through the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The company is concerned that straps attaching pieces to the wall can break, potentially causing the furniture to tip over.

The recall includes armoires, combos, dressers and hutches. They were manufactured from January 2006 through September 2010. There are about 18,000 affected pieces of furniture in the United States and about 2,000 more in Canada.

Pali Design is offering customers a free kit that includes a better restraint strap, mounting hardware and instructions for installation. To get the kit, customers can call (866) 840-4140 between 9:00am and 5:00pm ET Monday through Friday, or email customerservice@pali-design.com.
