Gas prices begin to rise again

National average $2.16 per gallon

(LAKANA) – Gas prices are rising across the U.S. after the national average dropped 54 out of 55 days. According to AAA, gas prices have increased for six days straight and 12 of the past 17 days.

Regular unleaded gas is averaging $2.16 per gallon Monday, which is 46 cents cheaper than 2015 on the same date and the lowest price point for Aug. 22 since 2004.

AAA reports increased crude oil prices have contributed to the increase, but gas prices are projected to dip back under $2 per gallon after the summer driving season when cheaper winter blends are made available.
