Bud Light gold cans could win you tickets to five decades of Super Bowls

HOUSTON – It's like Charlie and the "Chocolate Factory" for football fans. Bud Light launched a campaign that will get one lucky football fan five decades worth of Super Bowl tickets.

If you drink beer, you may want to rush out out to the grocery store for a pack of Bud Light.

Anheuser-Busch will begin selling golden cans this week as part of a big Super Bowl promotion. Thirty-seven thousand gold cans will be sold in 18-, 24-and 30-packs of beer across the country, except in California, according to NBC News.

"All season long, Bud Light has celebrated the most passionate and dedicated fans that the NFL has to offer, and as the playoffs approach, we want to see fandom turned up another notch, director of NFL partnerships Anna Rogers said. "Most NFL fans likely won't see one Super Bowl in their lifetime, so we figured what better way to reward one of the NFL's biggest fans than by giving him or her tickets to the big game for the rest of their life?"

Six people will be selected each week to win a pair of season tickets, according to Anheuser-Busch. But only one person will take the grand prize of Super Bowl tickets for the next 51 years.

The promotion starts Monday and ends Jan. 13, 2017.

Follow these steps for a chance to win the grand prize:

  • Consumers must purchase special-edition packs of Bud Light for the chance to find a gold can, or they can visit budlight.com to download and print a gold can wrap.
  • Consumers can enter the sweepstakes by taking a picture with the gold can and posting the sweeps hasthags (#SBTix4Life and #Sweeps) on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter and/or on BudLight.com.
  • Six weekly winners during the promotional window will be selected to win a pair of season tickets to their favorite NFL team.
  • One grand prize winner will be selected to win a pair of Super Bowl tickets for life (up to 51 years) the week of Jan. 16, 2017.

At 7:30 a.m.on Monday, the site appeared to be down. It's not a coincidence since it is the first day of the promotion.
