It seemed like everyone was going to Europe this year. Everyone except me. Was there a secret deal all my friends were aware of that I wasn't? Nope, they were just dropping thousands of dollars on expensive vacations, paying no heed to the cost of their flights.

That’s nice, but I can’t afford to live that kind of lavish lifestyle. Or so I thought.

When I came across this deal for Dollar Flight Club’s Premium Plus+ plan, I was initially skeptical. How was this any different from the tracking alerts I was already getting from Google Flights? Pretty different, I’d soon learn.

The lifetime membership was a huge part of the reason I decided to go for it. Paying $100 once was a whole lot better than paying monthly subscriptions like a lot of the other travel clubs out there. Besides, if I was going to save up to $2,000 on my trip like the app promised, the $100 investment would basically pay for itself.

My dream vacation was just a few clicks away

Signing up couldn’t have been easier.

  1. After making my purchase, I got an email with my access code, a redemption link, and clear-cut steps.
  2. In the link, I provided an email and a password for my new account. After clicking “Get Cheap Flights,” I was prompted to pick my main departure airport and my dream destinations. It was hard to narrow it down, but I added my top five knowing I could always go back and switch them out later.
  3. The checkout page required me to put down a credit card, but when I added my promo code, it showed up as “100% off” so I knew I wasn’t getting double charged.

After I logged in, I was met with a whole page of flight options and prices for all those dream destinations I listed plus a few other good deals.

Affordable flights for economy, premium economy, and business classes

Admittedly, I was eager to find something ASAP, so I browsed the options on my homepage. Here are just a few I saw right off the bat:

  • Kahului, Hawaii: $509 round trip
  • Aruba: $305 round trip
  • Turks and Caicos: $351 round trip

Okay, so they weren’t lying when they said they’d find me impressive airfare deals. The following day, even more arrived in my inbox. Three, to be exact. Each email gave a quick low-down on a specific flight deal, including:

  • Destination
  • Departure airport and price range
  • Airlines
  • Standard fare (to compare the deal against)
  • Travel dates

Then, I kept scrolling and found the “how to book” section, which included details on booking and the link to the flight deal.

What set this apart from previous forays with Google Flight reminders was that Dollar Flight Club scoured the whole web and not just what was on Google. Each deal was sourced from trusted sites like Google Flights, Skyscanner, and Kiwi!

Another thing I noted from being a Premium Plus+ member was that I wasn’t just getting alerts for economy deals; I was getting premium economy and business class flights as well. Here I was thinking I wouldn’t be able to even afford a Euro trip at all, and now I’m splurging on premium economy for more leg space. But, is it really considered “splurging” when the price of a premium economy ticket is cheaper than some regular economy fares I’ve seen while doing my own research? Me and my wallet certainly don’t think so!

The bottom line

So, did I end up booking a trip? I would’ve been crazy not to. Yesterday, I got a flight deal for Dublin — a $500 economy round trip leaving later this year. With the standard fare being close to $900, that meant $400 in savings!

After booking, I looked at the travel perks included with my Premium Plus+ membership, and I sure am glad I did. A free five-year renewal for my TSA Pre-Check? Yes, please! I also made good use out of the 5% discounts on Tripadvisor experiences and Rentalcars.com rentals. With the travel perks, I was able to square away most of the details of my trip. The only thing left to do is pack my bags and see if I can teach myself some Irish before I depart.

The key to Dollar Flight Club is to have an open mind, flexible dates, and lots of dream destinations. For someone like me who just wants to travel — no matter when or where — having this membership was a total game changer. I keep the email alerts on so I can plan ahead for future trips I know I want to take, too.

If you’re like me, looking to see the world one amazing airfare deal at a time, then Dollar Flight Club Premium Plus+ is a must. You can join today for only $99.99 (reg. $1,690) for life!
