Area events celebrate Independence Day

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Communities across northeast Florida and southeast Georgia are holding events to honor the nation's birthday.

We've pulled a list of many of the events. You would know of others, please follow the "Add event" link on the News4Jax community calendar or send details in an email to newstips@wjxt.com.

If you can't get out to celebrate or see fireworks in your area, watch the Jacksonville Fireworks Spectacular broadcast from 8-10 p.m. on Channel 4, The Local Station. Tuesday hosted by Kent Justice and Mary Baer, which honors local veterans, celebrates our nation's history and finishes off with uninterrupted coverage of the fireworks display over the St. Johns River.
