JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Communities across northeast Florida and southeast Georgia are holding events to honor the nation's birthday.

If you can't get out to celebrate or see fireworks in your area, watch the Jacksonville Fireworks Spectacular broadcast from 8-10 p.m. on Channel 4, The Local Station. Tuesday hosted by Kent Justice and Mary Baer, which honors local veterans, celebrates our nation's history and finishes off with uninterrupted coverage of the fireworks display over the St. Johns River.
St. Johns County
Downtown St. Augustine
Time: 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 4
The celebration in the nation's oldest city begins with big band and swing music and patriotic favorites in the gazebo of the Plaza de la Constitución. A 20-minutes choreographed fireworks show over the Matanzas Bay between the Castillo de San Marcos and the Bridge of Lions begins a 9:30 p.m. (Many shops and restaurants will stay open late for those wanting to stay after the light show to avoid the traffic.)

Jacksonville
Fireworks over the St. Johns River
Time: 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 4
The annual 4th of July Celebration Downtown has fireworks visible from either side of the St. Johns River. Jacksonville Landing will be hosting live music throughout the evening. The main downtown fireworks begin at 9:45 pm. Acosta Bridge and Main Street Bridge will be closed from 9:15 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Keystone Beach opens at 4 p.m., with music starting at 5:30 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. An armband to get on the beach costs $1 and they are sold from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 4.

People are asked to arrive early. The fireworks are best viewed from the beach, between the Holiday Inn Resort and the Days Inn on the island's oceanfront side.

Free games, watermelon and more at Mary Ross Waterfront Park in downtown Brunswick. The fireworks take place over the East River and Oglethorpe Bay.
