Floridians urged to mentor students

Department of Education releases video

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Education released a video Tuesday to inspire Floridians to mentor a student.

"Our state's students are truly our greatest asset and I believe that, as adults, we should make it a priority to invest in their futures," said Commissioner Pam Stewart.  "As we approach the start of a new school year, I hope this video motivates each Floridian to find one hour each week to help a student thrive."

In the Why I Mentor video, Department of Education staff members share their experience with mentoring.

If you are interested in mentoring, please contact your local school district.
