FSU gets record $100M gift

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State University on Friday announced it has received a record $100 million gift and will create the Jim Moran School of Entrepreneurship.

The gift, from Jan Moran and The Jim Moran Foundation, is the largest in Florida State's history.

The late Jim Moran founded Deerfield Beach-based JM Family Enterprises Inc., an automotive industry company.

The entrepreneurship school will stand alone, with part of the gift continuing to fund the longstanding Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship, which serves entrepreneurs and small businesses in the state, according to a news release from the university.
