JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Great Escape Room is coming to Jacksonville. The concept is based off the popular computer and cellphone escape games.

The game consists of two teams made up of 12 people each. Each team is put into a separate locked room that they must escape. The game is made up of a scavenger hunt, mystery challenge and puzzles that the teams must solve to be able to get out.

Each group has 60 minutes each to try and escape. Teams can race to beat the clock or compete against each other. According to The Great Escape Room, only 22% of teams are able to escape within the given hour of time.

The game is a team building exercise made for adults and teenagers. It's available for sports teams, corporate team building, youth groups and birthday parties.

The Great Escape Room originated in Orlando, but also has locations in Miami and Tampa, as well as Washington D.C. and other cities.

The Great Escape Room is expected to open sometime this winter. According to the Facebook page it will be located at 11651 Central Pkwy. not far from the University of North Florida.
