Movie Review: 'The Founder' sizzles with drama

Birth of an empire rises from conflict

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – "The Founder" (PG-13)

It's based on the true story of how McDonald's evolved from a family-owned hamburger stand to a multimillion-dollar empire. Two brothers, Dick and Mac McDonald, are the creators of the fast-food business. However, Ray Kroc (Michael Keaton) is the businessman who turned it into McDonald's Corp. Kroc is known for expanding the business. The film reveals the conflicts between the three and the growth of the business. Kroc is a character you will love and hate at the same time. Yes, it was genius to expand the business but the tactics to do it were cold and borderline unethical. It's very entertaining and controversial.
