Comic book legend Stan Lee dies at 95, report says

LOS ANGELES – Stan Lee, a legend in the comic book world, has died at the age of 95, reports say.

TMZ reports Lee was rushed from his Southern California home early Monday after experiencing shortness of breath. Lee later died at the hospital.

Lee helped create iconic comic characters such as Spider-Man, the Hulk, Thor, X-Men and the Fantastic Four.

In his later years, Lee suffered from numerous medical and legal issues.

Lee was forced to get a restraining order filed against memorabilia collector who claimed he was Lee's caretaker. In a petition, Lee accused Keya Morgan of taking advantage of him ever since his wife, Joan, had died in 2017.

Lee also filed a suit against his former company, Pow! Entertainment, alleging it conspired with two employees to steal his identity. The suit was dismissed by Lee in July.

At the time, Lee took to Twitter to announce his return, saying, "I'M BACK! -- Stan."

Born in 1922, Lee created his first superhero, The Destroyer, for Timely Publications, and later became editor-in-chief of the organization at just 19.

Timely eventually became Marvel Comics, which Lee ran until he became publisher in 1972.
