Sam Hunt to headline Military Appreciation at The Players

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Grammy nominated country singer Sam Hunt will perform on Tuesday, May 9, during Military Appreciation Day at the Players Championships.

The Military Appreciation Day Ceremony, which beings at 6 p.m.)and the concert which begins at 6:30 p.m., will be held on the 17th hole when the tournament returns May 9-14 to The Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass,

"I’m extremely excited to perform for our troops on the famed 17th hole during The Players Championship,” said Hunt. “This tournament does so much to support the men and women serving our country.  I am grateful to be a part of the festivities and am looking forward to putting on a great show."

"We are eagerly anticipating the 2017 Military Appreciation Day concert with Sam Hunt,” said Kevin English, The Players 2017 volunteer chairman.  "Fans will have access to the amenities located around the famous Island Green, like our permanent restroom facilities and various food and beverage options."

In addition to Military Appreciation Day, The Players provides all career military including active duty, reserve, military retirees and dependents with complimentary admission to the tournament all week and discounted admission for veterans.

Parking is not included with free or discounted  Thursday through Sunday tickets. All parking on Tuesday and Wednesday of tournament week is free.

Throughout tournament week, all active duty, reserve military members, military retirees, veterans and their dependents will have access to the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost, a hospitality tent reserved exclusively for the military which offers complimentary food, beverages and activities.  Located near the tee at No. 16, the Patriots’ Outpost is financially supported by The Players and Jacksonville-area companies and individuals. 

The Players volunteer leadership, the Red Coats, are the lead sponsor of the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost. The Players issued more than 30,000 complimentary military tickets in 2016, and more than 19,000 military members and their families were hosted in the Patriots’ Outpost.
