JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Typical for this time of the year as we approach the holidays, The Blood Alliance is experiencing a very low blood supply, especially with O-negative and O-positive blood types.
As the only provider of blood to all area hospitals, the Alliance asks for donors of all types to give blood.

"If you personally cannot give blood because you are deferred or are in-between donations, tell a friend to donate on your behalf," said spokeswoman Odette Struys. "Giving a pint of blood only takes one hour out of your day and your one pint can save up to three lives."
