OneBlood in need of donations


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The supply of blood has reached extremely low levels due to high usage in area hospitals and OneBlood is need of blood donations.

OneBlood (formerly The Blood Alliance) is asking for blood donors to donate blood as soon as possible.

OneBlood said the donated blood will help an ill or injured patients within a few days.
There are eight different blood types and each one holds a unique power to save lives. The OneBlood Target Your Type program gives donors the ability to learn the power of their blood type and how to donate the specific components of their blood that are most needed by area hospitals.

In addition, all donors receive a wellness checkup of blood pressure, pulse, iron count and temperature, including a cholesterol screening.

Generally healthy people age 16 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds can donate blood. Photo ID is required.
