More than one-third of American women and men are obese, and being obese can cost nearly $1,500 more in medical costs each year!  But losing weight isn't quite as simple as eating fewer calories and burning more.

Often unhealthy habits develop over time-and changing them can have a huge impact on not just your weight, but overall health.  We have t some habits of the naturally slim you can develop to lose weight without dieting.

One of the easiest changes to make is to simply start moving more.  People who tap their toes or constantly move can burn up to 350 calories a day. And parking in the furthest spot from work can add up to an extra mile a week.

"It's also important to do things like take the stairs. It sounds trivial, but it makes a big difference, it adds up," explained Beth McQuiston, MD, RD, with Abbot Laboratories.

Another habit you can develop is to eat without anything else going on.  Eating food without the TV on can make you savor your food more; you'll end up eating less and feeling fuller.

Not eating when you're not hungry is another easy change you can make. It may sound simple, but it's often something we're all guilty of doing at some point.
