What's the deal with 'Hot Pants?'

Headline Goes Here

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - They promise to help you lose inches and cellulite. All you have to do is slip them on and follow your normal workout routine.  They're called 'Hot Pants.'

The big question, do they work?

If you log onto the product website, as you would expect you'll find glowing review after review. Most women giving them the maximum five stars for "excellent" results. We talked with Shelley Sanderson from Jacksonville who has been working out in 'Hot Pants' for several months.

"I love them," Sanderson said. "I can tell a difference after exercising in them for awhile. My pants are looser and my skin looks tighter."

Hot pants are made by a company called Zaggora and created with a special blend of materials that claim to enhance your natural body temperature. This warms you up in the areas you want to target most thighs, rear end and legs. Zaggora said the science behind these is since you're heating up and your body is using more energy, you are burning more calories. Not just during exercise, they claim, but even after.

Personal trainer, Jodi Fizer, warned if sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

"Those type of gimmick things are quick fixes," Fizer said. "In the long run it will come back cause you're only making temporary changes. Especially something of that nature. It's superficial water weight that you're retaining. It's just allowing it to get out of the system faster in those areas."

To really see if these work, Channel 4's Nikki Kimbleton ordered a pair and hit the gym. She said they were comfortable, although they do make a funny sound when you walk. Nikki also said that you don't really notice how much you're sweating until you take the "hot Pants" off. Then she described it as "kinda gross."

"I did feel pretty good after," Nikki said. "It's easy to see why a lot of people swear by them."

Hot Pants are sold in several different lengths and styles and average around $70 per pair.
