The St. Louis Zoo announced Wednesday it has delivered the zoo's largest litter of cheetah cubs, The Associated Press reported.
Bingwa, a 4-year-old cheetah, gave birth to the eight cubs -- three male and five female -- on Nov. 26, the AP reported.
The average litter size is three to four cubs, the AP reported.
Of the 430 litters it has documented, the Association of Zoos and Aquariums said it's the first time a cheetah mom has birthed and raised her own litter of eight cubs at a zoo, the AP reported.
The zoo said Bingwa -- which means "champion" in Swahili -- has been an "exemplary" mom to the cubs, which are all doing well, the AP reported.
