Jacksonville man wins $1M in scratch-off game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville man won $1 million from a scratch-off ticket purchased on Monument Road, Florida Lottery officials said. 

Munib Garvanovic, 53, claimed his prize Thursday at the Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. He won the $1 million prize playing the $5,000,000 Gold Rush Doubler scratch-off game.

Lottery officials said Garvanovic chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $745,000. 

Garvanovic purchased his winning ticket from the Gate gas station at 1001 Monument Road. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
