Jacksonville's 2nd Amazon fulfillment center set to open next week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Amazon, the online shopping giant, is set to open its second location early next week, according to a spokesperson with the company.

Due to Hurricane Irma, the opening of the fulfillment center on 103rd Street near Cecil Commerce Center was pushed back slightly from late September to early October.

The Amazon facility, which created 1,000 full-time jobs, will be welcoming new employees early next week.

Amazon spokesperson Brenda Alfred said the company feels very fortunate to create jobs and is “thrilled to welcome the hard-working people of Jacksonville into the Amazon family.”

Amazon’s Northside fulfillment center on Pecan Park Road welcomed its first employees last month.
