Lake City Police Seek Bank Robber

Lake City police are looking for a man who held up a Bank of America branch on U.S. Highway 90 on Monday afternoon.

Police said a man entered the bank at 12:55 p.m., approached a teller, told her he had a gun and demanded money. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the man left the bank on foot.

No gun was seen and no one was hurt during the robbery.

The robber was described as about 50 years old with silver or white hair, a mustache with a goatee, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. Witnesses believe he is left-handed.

He was wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt with a white striped shirt underneath.

Information received from other Florida law enforcement agencies leads the Lake City police to believe the man may have held up other banks in the state.

Anyone with information about the robbery or who thinks they could help identify the robber is asked to call the Lake City Police Department at 386-752-4344.
