Police Capture Bank Robbery Suspect
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A day after an Arlington bank was robbed, Jacksonville police announced they have arrested a suspect in the case.
Police were called to the Wachovia Bank on University Boulevard North Thursday afternoon.
Witnesses said a man entered the bank, lifted his shirt, and showed the teller a gun. They said he demanded money and was given an unknown amount cash before running away from the bank.
The incident was caught on surveillance camera, and police released the images to Channel 4.
On Friday, police said they were able to take the suspect into custody, saying his capture was a direct result of the media exposure.
Police have not said where the suspect was captured, nor have they released his mug shot.
