Jags WR Matt Jones Ordered To Jail

Jaguars' wide receiver Matt Jones was in jail in Arkansas Monday evening after telling a judge in Washington County Drug Court that he had been drinking and playing golf with friends last week, KFSM in Fayetteville, Ark., reported.

Drinking is a violation of the probation agreement that Jones signed when he entered a drug program.

Last July, a police officer in Arkansas said he saw the football player inside a car cutting up cocaine with a credit card. In October, a judge agreed to send Jones' case to drug court, where he was allowed to undergo an intervention program and serve 30 hours of community service to avoid serving any time in jail.

However, on Monday a judge decided weighed the options of sending Jones to jail or making him enter a six-week residential drug program. After a short recess, she told Jones he would be sent to Washington County Jail until 8 a.m. Sunday.

The judge said the incident would set Jones back in the drug program in which he was participating.
