Deputies said the man spoke with her briefly, then pulled her purse forcibly from her and fled the area.

The man is described as a white male about 6 feet tall. He had short, dark hair and was wearing blue pants and a blue shirt.

One witness described him as being between 30 and 50 years old, while another witness thought he appeared to be younger.

Around the time of the robbery, a red Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck was also seen near the home, deputies said. The truck appeared to be a late 1990s to early 2000s model. It has the word "Chevrolet" across the back tailgate, and there was a silver ladder in the back of the truck, deputies said.

The owner or driver of the truck is being sought for questioning about the robber.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Columbia County Sheriff's Office at 386-758-1373 or Crime Stoppers of Columbia County at 386-754-7099.
