2 Accused In Kingsland Church Burglaries
KINGSLAND, Ga. – Police investigating break-ins to three Kingsland churches this week have arrested two individuals on burglary charges.
The Kingsland Police Department said the First Baptist Church on Chester Avenue and the First United Methodist Church on Williams Street were burglarized either Monday night or Tuesday morning, and the Free Will Baptist Church on North Gross Road was broken into before dawn on Wednesday.
Kingsland patrol officers was able to provide information that led a detective to two suspects' homes, where items were found matching things that were taken from the churches. Those items, including a lock-box and the radio, were identified by the victims.
Edward Gilbert, 20, and Lloyd Sams, 19, both of Kingsland, were arrested and charged with three counts of felony burglary.
Police said both Gilbert and Sams were out on bond on previous theft-related charges when they were arrested.
Both were booked into the Camden County Jail in Woodbine.
