Armed Robbers Hit Walmart Overnight

Police Searching For 2 Suspects Who Held Up Northside Jacksonville Store

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are searching for armed robbers who held up the Walmart on Lem Turner Road early Thursday morning.

The Northside Walmart was held up about 1:45 a.m. A witness told Channel 4 the robbers were two men and they took cash.

"They said, 'Which one of you is going to help get the money out?' and I told him, 'I'll help so they won't hurt nobody else," said Freddy Pandy. "As soon as I put it inside the buggy, they ran."

Pandy said one man had a handgun and the other man had a shotgun. He said the robbers' faces were covered and that police arrived just after the armed men left.

"They said they ain't gonna hurt us, they just want the money," Pandy said.

No one was hurt, and police said they were not able to discuss how much money was stolen.

Walmart was closed for a few hours while police were investigated and spoke with witnesses, but reopened by 6 a.m.
