Woman Robbed At Gunpoint In Park

Woman Held Up While Watching Children Play

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Dinsmore woman was robbed Saturday afternoon while watching her 7-year-old child play at a city park.

The woman, who doesn't want to be identified, said she was sitting in her car when a gun was placed at her head. She said part of the gunman's face was covered and he appeared to be a teenager.

"I was scared, but I was more concerned that the kids would see, and it might go off. I'm not concerned about stuff ... more concerned about you brought a gun to a playground," she told Channel 4's Scott Johnson.

Police said they received another call shortly after from a car a few blocks away. The homeowner reported that an armed man ran through the house and kept going. Police were kept from tracking down the man when a train raced through the area, cutting off their pursuit.

The woman said her neighbors have been very helpful, and she will return to the park.

Police said another female may have been waiting nearby to help the suspect who didn't get away with much. The only item of much value stolen was her cellphone.

"(He) came around the car. Put gun to side of my head," the woman who was robbed said. "Told me if I moved he would shoot me, said give me everything you got. I said I don't have anything; I'm at a park."
