Stewart is charged with murder in the shooting deaths of 33-year-old Janet Mincey and 20-year-old Tashanda Jones, whom he knew.

Police said the cousins came to Jacksonville to meet Stewart on West 30th Street, and Stewart killed them to steal their van. The cousins were found lying dead in the street.

Stewart was arrested in Savannah two days after the killings.

He will be back in court next month.
