JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville police are looking for a man they said robbed a Hess Express on the Westside on Thursday night.
Police were called to the store in the 500 block of Cassat Avenue just before 11 p.m.
Police said the robber went into the store and handed the cashier a note that said for her to give him money so he did not have to shoot her.
The robber told her to hurry so he did not have to shoot anyone else, police said.
The cashier told police she did not see a gun, but the robber had his hand in his pocket, acting as if he had one, police said.
The robber handed the cashier a bag of chips and told her to ring them up so that she could open the cash register, police said. The cashier opened the register and put an undisclosed amount of cash in a small brown paper bag.
The robber took the money and the note and fled the store, police said.
