Deputies: Teens Caused Mall Explosion

$1,000 In Children's Clothes Damaged At Belk Store

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. – Two teens were arrested after causing an explosion at the Glynn Place Mall that damaged about $1,000 worth of clothes, Glynn County deputies said.

Deputies said the Brunswick teens, ages 14 and 15, caused an explosion in the children's clothing section at Belk on Sunday afternoon using a mixture of substances in a plastic bottle.

Deputies said the teens were seen running from the area and fleeing on a bicycle.

No one was injured in the explosion.

Deputies said they used store surveillance video to identify the suspects, and after the teens were interviewed Monday, deputies arrested them.

They are charged with felony criminal damage to property and were taken to the Youth Detention Center in Savannah.
