Local Hospital Earns Prestigious Recognition

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Memorial Hospital has received an important distinction. It was named one of the nation's top performers on key quality measures by the Joint Commission.

The Joint Commission is the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the nation. This is the first time the Joint Commission has recognized hospitals.

"This is a real tribute to our entire staff," said James B. Wood, Memorial Hospital's President and CEO. "We are committed to providing the best care possible to our patients, and we are proud that the Joint Commission recognizes this."

This is the second important quality care honor the local hospital has received in the last two months. Last month, it was named as a U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital.
