Jacksonville, Fla. – Jacksonville Public Library is proud to congratulate Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library President Harry Reagan and the Jacksonville Public Library/JEA team for sweeping this year's Northeast Florida Library Information Network awards program. Reagan received the Library Champion Award for his leadership of the Friends, which raises needed funds for the library.

Additionally, the libraries/JEA Home Energy Evaluation Kits won an Innovation Award. This collaboration between libraries and JEA, helps individuals evaluate their home energy use. The kits come in backpacks made from reclaimed billboard vinyl by Jacksonville's Burro Bags and they include special meters and other tools to help residents conduct an energy evaluation in their own homes free, along with an instruction manual and a resource book. Since November, the JEA backpacks have been checked out more than 943 times.
